Ambassador's Message Warms the Hearts of the Community, Children Write the Character 'Fu' with Their Brushes: Moroccan Chinese Community's Spring Festival Gala Concludes Successfully

On January 27, the 2026 Spring Festival Gala, co-organized by the Chinese Chamber of Commerce in Morocco and APECCM, was held at the Marriott Hotel in Casablanca. Yu Jinsong, Chinese Ambassador to Morocco, and members of the embassy, the heads of the Chinese Cultural Centre in Rabat, the Confucius Institute in Casablanca and the Chinese medical mission to Morocco, as well as representatives of the various overseas Chinese associations, Chinese-invested enterprises and members of the Chinese community in Morocco, gathered together to welcome the New Year.

The event opened with the solemn national anthem. The president of the Chinese Chamber of Commerce in Morocco reviewed the community's work in disaster relief and assistance and in services to the community under the guidance of the embassy; the president of APECCM, founded just over a month earlier, presented the association's initial achievements in connecting with local business associations, serving its members and spreading Chinese culture.

In his speech, Ambassador Yu Jinsong extended New Year greetings to the Chinese community in Morocco and affirmed the work done and the results achieved by the community in enhancing people-to-people friendship between China and Morocco and in strengthening the building of the Chinese community in Morocco. He expressed the hope that in the new year the community would be active builders of a harmonious community and strong defenders of China-Morocco friendship; he said that the embassy will always uphold the concept of "diplomacy for the people", serving the community with all its heart and safeguarding its legitimate rights and interests. The Ambassador also presented New Year "warmth kits" to representatives of the main overseas Chinese associations.

The artistic performances that followed were splendid, with lion dance, chorus, Chinese dance, piano and violin performances and guzheng performance taking the stage in turn, while the lucky draw added to the joy. The event reached its climax when a calligrapher and painter of the Chinese community in Morocco and children wrote the character "fu" together to send their good wishes, and a children's choir sang "Happy New Year", a heart-warming scene that won warm applause from the audience.

This gala brought together the forces of the Chinese community in Morocco, built a platform for reunion and exchange, and highlighted the charm of Chinese culture. In the future, the Chinese community in Morocco will continue to move forward hand in hand, contributing its strength to China-Morocco friendly cooperation and cultural exchanges.
