APECCM Holds Its First General Meeting of All Members, Rallying Diaspora Strength to Empower China-Morocco Exchanges

Recently, the Association for the Economic and Cultural Promotion of Chinese Overseas in Morocco held its first general meeting of all members since its establishment. All members gathered together to review the Association's milestone achievements over the month since its founding and to jointly chart the blueprint for its future development. The meeting opened with expressions of gratitude and was oriented toward practical action, reviewing the results of its core work while setting out the direction for the next phase.

It is understood that since its establishment, the Association has advanced its work in a solid manner within just one month, achieving three key results. In terms of building a cooperation network, the Association has taken the initiative to connect with well-known local Moroccan enterprises and business associations, establishing stable mechanisms for cooperation and contact, while maintaining close communication with relevant Chinese departments for foreign affairs, overseas Chinese affairs and commerce, thereby winning support from multiple sides. It is currently actively preparing reciprocal visits by delegations from both China and Morocco, paving the way for the implementation of concrete cooperation projects.

In terms of digital service empowerment, the WeChat official account platform was launched quickly and continues to publish practical information such as Moroccan economic and trade policies, market trends and cultural customs, effectively alleviating the information asymmetry faced by members; its sections will be further optimized to create a window for resource sharing. In terms of cultural cohesion and dissemination, the Association joined hands with the local Chinese chamber of commerce to hold a Chinese New Year gala, bringing festive warmth to Chinese overseas in Morocco; it also assisted the Confucius Institute in Casablanca, Morocco in holding a Spring Festival gala, showcasing the charm of Chinese culture to the local public. These activities were recognized by the Chinese Embassy in Morocco.

The meeting defined four major directions for the Association's next phase of development. In the field of economic and trade cooperation, it will refine the content of cooperation with local enterprises and associations, build specialized industry cooperation platforms, advance preparations for the reciprocal China-Morocco visits, and help member enterprises expand their markets at home and abroad; in information services, it will upgrade the functions of the official account by adding modules such as policy interpretation, legal consultation and supply-and-demand publishing, and establish a mechanism for needs research and customized delivery; in cultural exchange, it plans to join with local institutions and Chinese community organizations to hold events such as Chinese culture exhibitions and China-Morocco folk festivals; in safeguarding member services, it will improve service mechanisms, carry out enterprise visits, coordinate the resolution of difficulties, build a platform for mutual assistance among members, and organize special lectures on policy training and language exchange.

At the meeting, the Association's board of directors expressed its gratitude to all members for their full support, stressing that the Association's start and development would not have been possible without the enthusiastic commitment and proactive sense of responsibility of every member. At the same time, the meeting widely solicited opinions and suggestions from all members, encouraging everyone to speak freely on development plans, work priorities and service measures, so as to pool collective wisdom and drive the Association's sustained development.

In the future, the Association will take this meeting as an opportunity to rally the shared strength of the overseas Chinese community, advance all its work in a pragmatic manner, and continue to devote its efforts to deepening concrete China-Morocco cooperation, disseminating Chinese culture and serving the development of its members.
