Deepening the Soil of Cooperation, Building Bridges of Communication — APECCM Marks One Month Since Its Establishment

APECCM has recently marked one month since its establishment. Since its founding, the Association has received numerous letters of congratulations from relevant Chinese institutions and fellow members of the overseas Chinese community, including the Heilongjiang People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, the Heilongjiang Overseas Friendship Association, the Heilongjiang Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese, the Harbin Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese, the Liaoning People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, the Dalian Office of Overseas Chinese Affairs, the Jilin Office of Overseas Chinese Affairs, the Jilin Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese, the Shanxi Department of Commerce and the Shanxi Office of Overseas Chinese Affairs; the support and expectations expressed in their words have injected strong momentum into the Association's initial work.

In their letters, the institutions from Heilongjiang, Liaoning, Jilin, Shanxi, Dalian and Harbin extended warm congratulations on the Association's establishment, affirmed its significance in deepening Sino-Moroccan economic and trade cooperation, promoting cultural exchange and serving the development of compatriots, and expressed their expectation that the Association will give full play to its role as a bridge, building a solid platform for cooperation between the two sides in multiple fields.

Zhang Yashan, President of the Association, said that it will anchor itself to its core mission of “promoting economic and trade connectivity, passing on cultural roots and serving the development of compatriots”, and will guide the Association to rely on Morocco's geographical advantage as a link between Europe and Africa and on the sound foundation of Sino-Moroccan cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative, focusing its efforts in three directions: in the economic and trade field, building a platform for information sharing and project matching between Chinese and Moroccan enterprises to help precisely match China's high-quality production capacity with Morocco's market demand; in the cultural field, promoting exchange and mutual learning between fine traditional Chinese culture and Moroccan local culture; and in the field of overseas Chinese affairs, providing protection of rights and interests, daily life services and development support for Chinese compatriots in Morocco.

In the month since its establishment, the Association has completed initial contact and communication with relevant institutions in both China and Morocco and collected and compiled dozens of items of information on economic and trade cooperation intentions, laying the foundation for subsequent practical cooperation. Going forward, the Association will take its first month as a new starting point, continue to deepen its collaboration with relevant Chinese departments and overseas Chinese organizations, and, with more practical measures and more efficient services, become a “booster” for Sino-Moroccan economic and trade cooperation, a “bridge of hearts” for cultural exchange and a “safe harbour” for the development of compatriots.
