Transnational Exchanges Bear Fruit | Economic and Cultural Delegation from Kénitra, Morocco Successfully Completes Inspection Tour of Jilin, Heilongjiang and Liaoning

From June 30 to July 8, 2026, at the invitation of Zhang Yashan, President of the Association for the Economic and Cultural Promotion of Chinese Overseas in Morocco (APECCM), Moufti El Houssine, Deputy Mayor of Kénitra, Morocco, led an economic and cultural delegation to China. The delegation successively visited multiple locations in Jilin, Heilongjiang and Dalian to carry out government exchanges, enterprise inspections and industrial matchmaking, comprehensively deepening China-Morocco economic and trade cooperation and people-to-people and cultural exchanges, and achieving fruitful results.

The delegation visited the Jilin Provincial Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT Jilin) and held in-depth discussions with the provincial CCPIT and the Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of the United Front Work Department of the Jilin Provincial Party Committee. The two sides engaged in thorough communication on economic and trade matchmaking, cultural mutual visits, non-governmental exchanges and resource sharing, established a regular communication mechanism, and laid a solid foundation for long-term friendly cooperation between the two places.

During the stay in Heilongjiang, the delegation held talks and exchanges with the Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism, the Provincial People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, and the Harbin Returned Overseas Chinese Federation, focusing on in-depth discussions in areas such as integrated cultural and tourism development, non-governmental friendly exchanges and coordinated overseas Chinese affairs cooperation, continuously deepening the cultural ties between the two places. In Suihua, the delegation conducted pragmatic discussions with the local government on commercial circulation, modern agriculture and cooperation in characteristic industries, and visited two key enterprises on site, Heilongjiang Tianyouwei Electronics and Heilongjiang Xinhecheng Biotechnology, to gain an in-depth understanding of the development of local advantageous industries and precisely tap space for two-way cooperation.

In Wangkui County, the two sides held a special discussion on modern agriculture, educational exchanges and rural development. After the meeting, the delegation visited the former residence of Comrade Lin Feng, the Manchu Customs Museum and the county botanical garden, experiencing up close Wangkui's red culture, folk customs and urban development achievements, and laying a people-to-people foundation for cultural and tourism linkage and cultural mutual visits between the two places. The delegation also visited Heilongjiang Tiankuoyuan Beverages and the Wangkui County Livestock Trading Center on site, holding in-depth exchanges with enterprise leaders to learn in detail about industrial operations and market demand, and precisely matching trade and agriculture and animal husbandry cooperation opportunities.

During the inspection in Dalian, the delegation and the CCPIT Dalian jointly held the Kénitra (Dalian) Economic and Trade Matchmaking Conference, holding face-to-face talks with representatives of 14 key local enterprises. The two sides conducted targeted matchmaking in key areas such as used car exports, auto parts supporting, the new energy industry, engineering contracting and mineral cooperation, successfully establishing enterprise contact channels and effectively promoting two-way cooperation in industrial and supply chains.

At the exchange meeting of the Dalian Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese, President Zhang Yashan gave a detailed introduction to the development of the Association for the Economic and Cultural Promotion of Chinese Overseas in Morocco. He stated that the Association is an overseas Chinese organization officially registered with the Moroccan Ministry of the Interior, and has long been committed to building a comprehensive platform for China-Morocco economic and trade matchmaking, cultural exchanges and services for overseas Chinese compatriots, serving as an important non-governmental bridge connecting China and North Africa. Looking toward future in-depth cooperation with Dalian, he proposed three pragmatic development plans: First, uphold its role as a bridge and bond, continuously unblocking channels for policy communication, information connectivity, trade flows and people-to-people bonds between Dalian and Morocco and the North Africa region; Second, help local quality products go global, relying on the Association's resource advantages and market experience deeply cultivated in North Africa to provide services for Dalian's quality industries and characteristic products to explore the Moroccan and North African markets; Third, deepen two-way mutual benefit and win-win results, not only promoting domestic enterprises' overseas expansion in the North African market, but also actively introducing Morocco's quality resources and investment opportunities to land in Dalian.

This transnational inspection trip was compact, pragmatic and fruitful, effectively enhancing mutual trust and understanding between Kénitra, Morocco and multiple regions of Northeast China, and successfully building a cooperation bridge for government-enterprise matchmaking, industrial linkage and cultural-tourism connectivity. Next, the Association for the Economic and Cultural Promotion of Chinese Overseas in Morocco will continue to follow up on the outcomes of this inspection and negotiations, regularly promote mutual visits and exchanges and project implementation between the two places, and continuously deepen China-Morocco economic, trade and cultural cooperation.
