Warmth for the Elderly at the Two Festivals, Great Love Shared Between China and Morocco — Moroccan Chinese Associations Jointly Visit the Rabat Social Centre for the Elderly, Free Medical Consultations Strengthen Friendship

On February 13, local time, as the Chinese Lunar New Year approaches and the Moroccan month of Ramadan is about to begin, APECCM, together with the Moroccan Association for Friendship Among Peoples and the Morocco-China Friendship and Exchange Association, jointly went to the Sidi Allal El Bahraoui Social Centre for the Elderly in Rabat to carry out a charitable visit and free public medical consultations.

The delegation arrived at the social centre for the elderly with festive greetings and charitable supplies and, accompanied by the head of the centre, visited on site the residents' rooms, leisure activity rooms, health-care facilities and other areas. The clean and warm living environment, the meticulous and thorough daily care and the professional and well-regulated service guarantees enable the elderly to enjoy a comfortable old age, and the members of the delegation highly commended the centre's dedicated care.

In this activity, APECCM prepared 60 sets of daily necessities such as rice, flour and oil with a total value of 20,000 dirhams, delivering the concern and care of the Chinese overseas in Morocco into the hands of every elderly person; the Moroccan Association for Friendship Among Peoples specially organised medical personnel to give on-site free consultations, measuring blood pressure, examining the elderly, answering their health questions and distributing common medicines.

The visit site was filled with warmth. As the elderly received the charitable supplies and health care, their faces beamed with comfort and emotion; this care transcending national borders added yet more tenderness to the beautiful moment as the two festivals approach. The head of the centre expressed thanks on the spot, saying that he sincerely thanked APECCM and the Association for Friendship Among Peoples for the deep friendship they had brought, that this was not only material and health assistance but also the most sincere love and care of the Chinese people, and that both China and Morocco uphold the traditional virtue of respecting the elderly and cherishing the young, and this good deed is a vivid testimony to the mutual understanding and affinity between the peoples of the two countries.

This visit and free consultation activity is a warm-hearted practice of the Chinese overseas in Morocco integrating into the local community and giving back to society, and a miniature of China-Morocco people-to-people friendship.
