On 09/10/2026, the 7th Meknès International Tourism Forum opened at the Centre administratif et culturel de Meknès, under the Moroccan Ministry of Habous and Islamic Affairs. The China Cultural Center in Rabat, together with the Casablanca office of China Eastern Airlines, Youyi Travel Agency, Huanmei Travel Agency and other aviation and tourism enterprises in Morocco, joined forces with the Association for the Economic and Cultural Promotion of Chinese Overseas in Morocco (APECCM) and the ANAMA association to present the “Nihao! China” pavilion, which made a striking appearance.

With the “Nihao! China” brand identity as its visual core, the pavilion used the highly recognizable “Chinese red” as its dominant color and blended Chinese cultural elements with contemporary design language, making it the most eye-catching pavilion at this year's tourism forum. Electronic screens were set up in the pavilion to loop promotional videos on Chinese tourism, airline routes and payment facilitation measures; staff actively distributed tourism brochures and leaflets in Arabic, English and French to guests and visitors, and actively introduced China-Morocco airline products and travel itineraries to China. The pavilion also featured an intangible cultural heritage experience area: lifelike paper-cutting works, finely crafted opera figurines and elegant traditional costumes attracted many visitors to stop and admire them. Many local young people who came to visit the exhibition enthusiastically tasted Chinese green tea, tried on qipao and hanfu, and posed for photos with a panda mascot.

Ambassador of China to Morocco Yu Jinsong, Governor of Meknès Sabbar, President of the Fès-Meknès Regional Council Ansari and President of the association Ismaïlia de Meknès Jamal Tazi, among other leading guests, visited the “Nihao! China” pavilion, highly praised its design and exhibition content, and encouraged the China Cultural Center in Rabat to continue to play its role as a comprehensive tourism and cultural promotion platform and to further deepen China-Morocco people-to-people and cultural exchanges. After visiting the China pavilion, Director of the Comité du tourisme de Meknès Benhaddouche said that China is an important source market for Morocco, Morocco-China tourism cooperation has broad prospects, and he looks forward to more Chinese tourists coming to experience Meknès's profound historical and cultural heritage.
The Meknès International Tourism Forum is co-organized by the association Ismaïlia, the Comité du tourisme de la région Fès-Meknès and the Comité du tourisme de Meknès; it is a major international event dedicated to the development of regional tourism. This edition lasted 3 days. In addition to China, countries such as India and Senegal, as well as tourism professional institutions such as the Société marocaine d'ingénierie touristique (SMIT), set up stands on site. Representatives of relevant Moroccan government departments, tourism industry experts and specially invited guests held several thematic discussions on topics such as “local economies serving heritage preservation” and “gastronomy as a means of enhancing the value of heritage spaces.” Moroccan national television, the Moroccan news agency and the specialized Moroccan tourism media Premium Travel News reported on the forum.
